It has been blazing hot in my classroom these past few days.  All the kids are complaining.  I can't blame them.  It is easily near 90 degrees in the room toward the end of the day.  Mornings are better, but not by much.  I wear a shirt and tie to work each day.  People think I'm crazy.  They may be right.  I'm burning hot at the end of the day, and when I get home I need to take a shower to get rid of the day's sweat.

The only positive is that teaching in this kind of heat becomes exercise.  I'm on my feet, moving around, sweating, and it feels like I'm getting paid to go to the gym and do something I enjoy rather than paying to go to a gym to do something I hate.  I don't hate exercise.  That's a strong word.  Me and physical activity don't have much of a relationship.  If I could lose weight and build muscle solely through mental activity, I would look like a greek god.  Perhaps someday humans will evolve that capability.  My waistline indicates that I have yet to evolve into mental mass management.  Long story short, I lost 3.7 pounds this week, which feels pretty nice.  I even notice a little less chub in some problem areas.  My BMI dropped from 33.99 to 33.53.

I like my Wii Fit again.  Maybe next week I won't, but right now, I'm feeling good, trying to stay positive.

Buy these things.  They're pretty awesome.
